This manual helps a requester understand what kinds of records may be held by the operator of Distance.Africa and fuel.distance.africa and how access to those records may be requested under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000.
This is a simple public-facing PAIA manual intended to provide the core details a requester may need.

Records available without a formal request
- Public website pages such as About, Contact, Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Disclaimer
- Public route and editorial pages intentionally published on the websites
- Any other records made publicly available by the operator
How to request access to a record
- Complete the prescribed PAIA request form.
- Send the request to privacy@distance.africa.
- Clearly describe the record you want access to.
- Explain the right you want to exercise or protect, where required.
- Provide proof of identity or authority if reasonably required.
- Pay any prescribed fee if applicable.
Important notes
Access to records is not automatic in every case and may be refused where a lawful ground of refusal applies.
A requester should provide enough detail to allow the record to be identified and should follow the PAIA process properly.
